Works with modern .docx files. Older .doc files (pre-2007 Word) use a legacy binary format a browser can't read — save it as .docx first (File → Save As → Word Document) and it'll open here. Existing bold, italic, underline, and tables display correctly and survive editing and saving. Once loaded, click into the document to edit the text directly — add, change, or delete paragraphs, list items, table cell text, and images. There's no formatting toolbar here, and no way to add a brand-new heading or table.
